US aid worker kidnapped in northern Kenya

An American aid worker was kidnapped on Tuesday as she was travelling from Garissa to Habaswein in northern Kenya.
Administration Police Constable Emmanuel Chiluma of Habaswein district headquarters said that Julia Juincy, who works with USAID Garissa, had called to inform him that she had left Garissa at around 8am.
Her vehicle broke down along the way at Modogashe and her whereabouts remain unknown.
Detectives from the Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) traced her phone to Nkubu in Meru County.
The suspected kidnappers are demanding ransom using the victim’s phone.
