What You Need to Know

On Thursday of this week AlertsUSA subscribers were notified via a text message to their mobile devices of a warning issued by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) that a highly active sunspot region was coming into position directly facing earth and there being a 60% chance of major X-class flare during this time. In the preceding 5 days 3 massive X class flares have already occurred, though none discharged in an earthly direction.

X Class flares are particularly worrisome as they have have the highest chance of taking down power grids, not to mention major disruption of communication satellites and navigation systems.
