Woman Fails To Impress McDonald's Workers With Her Government Cred < CBS Chicago

Oh, this brings back fond memories of the lady who kept muscling her way to the front of the line in Paris when our flight was canceled.  "I work for the government," she'd explain with entitled superiority to unimpressed United Airlines staffers….

Woman Fails To Impress McDonald’s Workers With Her Government Cred

CHICAGO (CBS) — A woman tried to throw some clout at bewildered McDonald’s employees, when she attempted to order some food at the drive thru window–without actually driving.

An apparently intoxicated 27-year-old Chicagoan, walked up to the drive thru in Greenfield, Wis., and demanded food, claiming she was a “level 14 government employee.” The story was first reported by the Greenfield Patch.

The workers refused the order because she was not in a vehicle. Although it’s unclear what she meant exactly, federal government workers are paid based on their GS (general schedule) level. A GS-14 worker could be paid up to a six figure salary. (The highest level is GS-15.)

So, it would seem a little odd that a highly paid government worker would be staggering around a McDonald’s parking lot, without a car, demanding burgers and fries from a drive-thru.

Or maybe not. The McDonald’s workers were clearly not impressed, and called police.

The unidentified woman became combative, telling responding officers: “Don’t touch me.”

According to the Greenfield Police Department report, officers responded to the McDonald’s, 4275 S. 27th St., in Greenfield shortly after midnight on Sunday.

According to the report, the woman smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot and glassy eyes and slurred her speech. Her blood alcohol content was .197 on a preliminary breath test.

She was arrested on disorderly conduct charges.
