5 More Obama Lies

1. Americans want higher taxes: During the debt ceiling debate, President Obama stated that 80% of Americans support including higher taxes as part of the deal. However, a Rasmussen poll the same week demonstrated 34% believe a tax hike should be included in a debt-ceiling agreement. Furthermore, nobody wants higher taxes; they want more services so they aren’t forced to provide for themselves.

2. Shovel-ready jobs: When Obama was pushing his $787 billion stimulus package, he consistently bragged about how shovel-ready construction jobs would be funded across the nation. Later, President Obama admitted that he was lying, when he told the New York Times: “There’s no such thing as shovel-ready projects.”

3. Keep your doctor: “Keep your doctor” was the mantra of President Obama when selling his health care measure. However, with rising costs, many employers will dump their health care plans and force workers into the state health care exchanges (unless you belong to one of the unions getting ObamaCare waivers). According to a survey by, McKinsey & Company more than 30% of companies will stop coverage for their workers.

4. Transparency: Obama pledged that transparency would be a high priority, but, according to an Associated Press analysis, his administration refused to grant one-third of the Freedom of Information Act requests. He also said that health-care negotiations would be televised on C-SPAN and that he would wait five days to sign a bill so people would have a chance to read it online – both failed to come to fruition.

5. Arizona immigration law: President Obama, during the squander over the Arizona immigration law, stated: “Now suddenly if you don’t have your papers and you took your kid out to get ice cream, you can be harassed, that’s something that could potentially happen.” Uh, actually, Mr. President, it couldn’t. The law states that law enforcement officials “may not solely consider race, color or national origin in implementing the requirements of this subsection.” This means the police officer or official must be “engaged in some sort of detention of an individual because he has violated another law.”
