Pyongyang announces that the Korean peninsula is on verge of war

The North Korean government on March 18 released a blistering "Declaration to All Koreans" announcing that the United States provocation is bringing the Korean Peninsula to the edge of a full scale war.

The declaration called for all Koreans to devote themselves to "a war of resistance," and be ready for the ultimate sacrifice for the North Korean state.

What triggered the current round of war hysteria from Pyongyang is the ongoing joint U.S.-South Korea military exercises "Key Resolve," and "Foal Eagle" that aim to beef up readiness and interoperability between the two allies in light of the increased belligerence from the North in recent months.

Pyongyang fired a rocket to outer space and tested a third underground nuclear device.

"The Korean nation is not afraid of anyone in the world and no one in the world has dared to offend the Korean nation," said the declaration.

"In this last decisive battle of life and death, what we the Korean nation will gain is our nation's ultimate objective -- the unification of the motherland, and what we will lose is only the Demilitarization Zone!"

"To any aggressor groups, common sense, reason and dialogue will never work. International laws will also be worthless!" declared the statement.
