SWEDEN'S FOOD AGENCY FINDS HALAL SAUSAGE CONTAINING 10% PORK

Posted: 10 Apr 2013 10:37 AM PDT

Sweden has found halal-marked salami for sale that contains more than 10 percent
pork, which observant Muslims do not eat.

Swedish National Food Agency said on Wednesday that the pork
meat came from Slovenia.

"We are now going to inform the EU about our analyses and follow up with the company that sold this wrongly labelled salami in Sweden," agency spokeswoman Louise Nyholm said in a statement.

MOHAMMAD AND HELL AWAITS ALL MUSLIMS WHO ATE THIS SAUSAGE.

MUSLIMS STORM SCHOOL TRY TO KILL CHIEF FOR DENYING ENTRY TO MUSLIM STUDENT WEARING FACE VEIL (TUNISIA)

Posted: 10 Apr 2013 09:39 AM PDT

ANGRY MUSLIMS (NOT FROM ACTUAL EVENT FOR ILLUSTRATION PURPOSES ONLY)

Muslims burst into a Tunisian school on Wednesday and assaulted its chief after he barred entry to a teenage girl wearing a face veil, or niqab, teachers said, an incident that underlined rising Islamist-secularist tensions.

Murad Ben Hamouda of the teachers' union at Manzel Bouzelfa secondary school said Salafistsstormed into the compound, smashed a few cars and
"tried to kill the director for refusing the entry of a schoolgirl dressed in niqab into the classroom".

School superintendent Abdelwahed Sentati was beaten with sticks and stones, suffering several broken bones, Hamouda said, and the assailants then fled. There have been no arrests, and interior ministry police had no immediate comment.

"WHY CANT WE ALL GET ALONG?" FEDERALLY FUNDED DAWAH PACKAGE UNVEILING AT RUTGERS UNIVERSITY

Posted: 10 Apr 2013 09:14 AM PDT

A talk that asks the question, “Why Can’t We All Get Along? On the Question of Being Muslim in America,” will help unveil a new collection of books and cultural materials that seeks to bridge the gap between Muslims and non-Muslims. Both the talk on April 10 at 2 p.m., and the new collection, are in the John Cotton Dana Library, 185 University Ave., Rutgers University, Newark.

The collection will be of interest to both non-Muslims seeking a better understanding of Islamic culture and history, and to Muslims looking for insights into their experiences.

The talk by Dr. Zain Abdullah, an expert on black Muslims, is free and open to the public, as is the collection. Abdullah, who is writing a book about Muslims in Newark, is a professor in the religion department at Temple University, and also taught at Rutgers-Newark for a number of years.

Rutgers-Newark was awarded the “Muslim Journeys” collection by the National Endowment for the Humanities, in partnership with the American Library Association, in recognition of the campus’s religious and ethnic diversity.  Rutgers-Newark has been ranked the most diverse national university campus by U.S. News & World Report for 15 years.

WHY CAN'T WE GET ALONG?  BECAUSE MUSLIMS DON'T WANT TO!

MUSLIM CABBIES PROTEST ST.LOUIS TAXICAB COMMISSION DISCRIMINATION OF MUSLIMS

Posted: 10 Apr 2013 08:42 AM PDT

Cab drivers protest outside city hall — claiming the commission that regulates them discriminates against Muslims, and hands down burdensome fines and fees designed to drive the small time cabbie out of the business.

A crowd of about twenty cab drivers picketed against the St. Louis Taxicab Commission, a nine-member agency whose members are appointed by Mayor Slay and four by County Executive Dooley.

Cab driver Raja Naeem says he filed suit against the airport, police and the Taxicab Commission in a dispute over his wanting to wear his Muslim religious clothing while he picked up passengers at Lambert Airport.

“I understand your concerns, but still in America I have my rights,” Naeem said, “And I’m not hurting anybody. I am not a terrorist.”

Cab Commission Executive Director Ronald Klein says the dispute arose when Naeem refused to sign a form.

THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME MUSLIM CABBIES IN ST.LOUISE TRIED TO ENFORCE SHARIA LAW ON THEIR EMPLOYERS.

CAIR FILES LAWSUIT AGAINST EXCL,INC FOR NOT ACCOMMODATING MUSLIM EMPLOYEE'S REQUEST TO ATTEND FRIDAY PRAYERS

Posted: 10 Apr 2013 08:07 AM PDT

The Columbus chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Ohio (CAIR-Ohio) announced today that it has filed a federal employment discrimination lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio against Exel, Inc., which is a wholly owned entity of Deutsche Post DHL.

The plaintiff, Yusuf Sufi, approached CAIR-Columbus after being fired by Exel in May, 2012. Sufi was fired for requesting a prayer accommodation in order to attend his Friday afternoon prayer services. In June 2012, CAIR-Columbus filed a charge of discrimination on behalf of Mr. Sufi with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Exel declined to participate in the EEOC mediation process with Sufi.

The federal complaint filed today states that Sufi repeatedly asked Exel to provide him with an accommodation under which he could attend his Friday afternoon prayer services. Fridays were not a regularly scheduled work day for Sufi, but Exel management often assigned him to overtime on Fridays. Sufi proposed various accommodations to Exel's management, including combining his breaks, taking unpaid time off, and requesting not to be scheduled for overtime work on Fridays. Exel's management refused to consider any accommodation proposed by Sufi, and his employment was ultimately terminated by Exel in May 2012 when he asked for the accommodation again.

Both state and federal law requires employers to accommodate the religious practices of their employees unless it creates an undue burden on the company.

MUSLIM OR NOT HIGHLY DOUBT THAT A COMPANY WOULD GO SUCH EXTREMES JUST TO PREVENT AN EMPLOYEE FROM PRACTICING HIS OR HER RELIGION.
