Catch and Release

Catch and Release

Asher Gladson

"Catch and release" is an appropriate option when fishing; not an appropriate option for criminals or for enemies in war.

The further we have strayed from Biblical principles, especially the Ten Realities (more commonly called the Ten Commandments), the more our prisons have filled to overflowing so that now there is no room for more. Today, a suspect in a felony may be booked at 9 a.m. and back on the street at 11.30 a.m. in time to get wasted with his pals, to plan the next heist or murder or whatever evil they want to cook up.

The same is true of terrorists. How many of the Guantanamo prisoners who have been released have repented of their terrorist activities? How many of the Guantanamo prisoners who have been released have returned to their terrorist activities against us? According to the February 4, 2013 Washington Free Beacon, "the most recent Director of National Intelligence report on former Guantanamo inmates returning to terrorism, 95 of the 602 terrorists released from the prison are confirmed to have returned to the practice of Islamist terrorism, with a total of 56 terrorists on the loose and other killed or in custody. The report, using data current as of July 19, stated another 73 terrorists released from Guantanamo are suspected of re-engaging in terrorism, with 43 still at large.

Our president and the Saudi foreign minister Prince Saud al-Faisal met Wednesday to arrange for a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing to be swept out of our nation back to his homeland. If he is a terrorist, is this reprieve going to cause him to reform his life? No. His family is steeped in blood. This is their "way." See al-Harbi clan details at shoebat.com.

The Biblical principle that our military has mothballed is this: "Do not deceive yourselves saying, 'The [insert the name of any enemy] will surely go away from us." for they will not go away. For even if you should defeat the whole army of [name of enemy] who are fighting against you and there remained of them only wounded men, every man in his tent, they would rise up and burn this city with fire." Jeremiah 37:9-10

Our military no longer names our enemies. Victory is no longer the goal, lest they "oppress" or "incite" the enemy. Should we accidently win a victory, it would not be followed up. It would not be exploited for the good of mankind, for that would be exercising "supremacy" and that has been turned into a no-no. We must all be equal; no one can be supreme except for the self-appointed elite. This leadership schizophrenia or victory-phobia is national suicide.

The Islamist enemy is not going to repent, to have a change of heart. The Islamist enemy will not go away. The Islamist enemy must be defeated.

Since this administration has now unambiguously signaled they will do no such thing, it is time for Congress in the name of those they represent and the nation they have vowed to protect, to take back the control of the state. It is time to staunch the flow of pity, take the victory and exploit it. For our leaders to do less is to convict themselves of being terrorists and criminals by abetting terrorists and criminals.
