كشفت "الوطن" عن تفاصيل اللقاء الذي جمع السفيرة الأمريكية آن باترسون مع أعضاء سلفيين، حيث طلبت السفيرة منهم عرقلة تشكيل الحكومة لحين اقتحام الحرس الجمهوري، وذلك رغم إدراكها أن القصة انتهت بخسارة الإخوان وانهيار المخطط الأمريكي تماما، لكنها حتى اللحظة الأخيرة لم تتوقف عن محاولة الحصول على شيء تحاول إنقاذ أوباما ونفسها شخصية من مقصلة الكونجرس المهددة لها وللرئيس الأمريكي.

وأسقطوا أكثر من أربعين جنديًا مصابا في لحظات الاشتباك الأولى، بينما بدأت جحافلهم في العدو بسرعة نحو بوابات الحرس الجمهوري وهو ما لا يدع مجالا للتدخل لا بقنابل الغاز ولا بغيرها، بخاصة في ضوء معلومات مؤكدة حول نواياهم، والتي تأكدت مع كم الأسلحة المضبوطة مع ميلشيات الإخوان
