LeT recruits women as terror conduits: Reports" width="315" height="419" />Banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Tayyeba (LeT) is revealed to have recruited women from the Kashmir Valley and trained them as conduits to carry out terror operations, reports said.

In what is believed to be the LeT’s new modus operandi in its programme of terror against India, commanders of the terror group have forcibly married young women from the Valley, and then trained as conduits for carriage of weapons and the extortion of ‘hawaala’ money, Times Now reported.

According to Times Now, a picture recovered from LeT commander Abdullah’s mobile phone revealed a 31-year old woman named Shabnam- reported to be the wife of terror operative Abu Hamza – wielding an assault rifle.

The LeT’s strategy of using women as instruments of terror has been a growing concern for armed forces in the Valley. Women operatives attract less attention from the police which has added to the difficulty it faces in averting terror attacks in the region.

Two years ago, a woman operative trained by the terror group named Hafiza Begum was arrested by security forces.
