A CUBAN BOY

Subject: A CUBAN BOY

A CUBAN BOY

When I was about 9 years old I remember asking my dad about Castro. I asked, “Is Castro a good guy or bad”

Dad said he couldn’t tell!! This was about 1955. We were living in Louisiana at the time. Dad was in the Army and stationed there.

Cuba was fairly close and in the news a lot. The Cubans were asking the same question! Ike was president.

This past July 4th, we had the pleasure of sharing a summer barbecue with a refugee from Cuba. Our dinner conversation was starkly different than most.

This refugee came to the United States as a young boy in the early 1960’s. His family was more fortunate than most, as they were able to bring a suitcase and $100 when they fled Castro’s newly formed revolutionary paradise.

Our dinner consisted of all-American fare: hamburgers, potato salad, fresh ears of sweet corn and watermelon. This is a menu shared with family and friends nationwide...while celebrating the birth of our beloved America...on the Fourth of July.

We began with a simple discussion about our country, and the direction it has taken since Barack Obama came to power. We shared the usual complaints about the sour economy and liberal social engineering emanating from the rulers in Washington.

But then he said it. The sentence flowed naturally from our refugee guest. I assume it was unplanned. But it carried the weight of a freight train.

“You know when Castro took power, none of us knew he was a Communist”.

We sat stunned. He continued, “Yes, we all thought he was a patriot, a nationalist. Before the revolution he didn’t sound like a radical.”

The comparison at this point was easy, and I interjected, “You mean just like Barack Obama.”

He responded;
“Yes, just like Barack Obama.”  He continued, “We were all shocked as the government just continued to grab more power. First they said the revolution is over, so please turn in your guns. We all complied.”

I also remember my uncle saying; “Castro will only nationalize some of the big industries. He will never come and take our family hardware store!!”

But that is exactly what happened. Castro started with the sugar mills and the large industries, but they eventually came and knocked on the door of our family hardware store. My family had run this store for generations.

They said, “We now own the hardware store, you work for us. And that four-bedroom home you own...it is now our property too. You have to move yourself and the five children into those two rooms of the house, because others are moving in here with you.”

The lesson learned from this discussion, is a lesson most Americans refuse to hear. Political leaders can lie about their agenda and once in office, they can take totally unexpected turns.

If you had asked us three years ago if we thought General Motors or Chrysler would be nationalized, we would have never believed it. We could never contemplate a country where the rule of law, the most fundamental building block of a justice society...would be evaporating, just like it did in Castro’s Cuba in the early 1960’s.

But the news of injustice keeps increasing;
Black Panthers are not charged with wrong doing by the U.S. Department of Justice...because their crimes are against whites;
The bond holders of GM are stripped of their assets...without being given due process by the government; Car Dealerships are closed with out due process; Governmental leaders are bribed in full daylight...only to have all investigation of the crimes stifled...by the Attorney General; The U.S. borders are over run with crime and illegal activity, and the leaders in D.C. act as if it is important to protect the lawbreakers...while the
 innocent are killed and overrun;
When local communities attempt to enforce the law, they are ridiculed...and threatened as racists and bigots. They are
sued by the very administration entrusted with enforcing the law.

Without the rule of law, the U.S. Constitution is a sham!!
Without the rule of law, our beloved America is swiftly becoming a country where only the well connected and politically powerful will be safe. As an author recently and so eloquently explained in her most recent book... “A culture of corruption has replaced honest government” (Michelle Malkin).

The only way this problem will be fixed, is by massive citizen action. All honest citizens that want to be treated equally, must come together...and demand that the favoritism, the bribes, the uneven enforcement of law...end now!! And yes, it can happen if we all pull together.

PLEASE SEND THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW!!
And...may God save the United States of America !

The very least you can do is forward this email. 6 million plus Jews didn’t believe it could happen in Germany either!!! If you’re a Christian in these United States of America, you’re probably next on the list. History bares that out.

The real problem here is, the boy from Cuba did manage to make it to the U.S. Today he and we will not have any place to escape to...except death!

And, for the most part...even though I’m forwarding this to you, probably less then 10 will even read it completely, let alone forward on to others.

AS A COUNTRY, HAVE WE BECOME THIS COMPLACENT WILL YOU JUST TURN YOUR BACK AND LIVE WITH THE CONSEQUENCES  I HOPE NOT...

YOU KNOW I DIDN’T, BECAUSE YOUR READING THIS, AND NOW I HOPE AND PRAY YOU DO FORWARD

1. Interesting In A Particular Way

Image001

Alex McNear Reflects On Meeting Young Barry Obama:

"He was interesting in a very particular way. He really worked his way through an idea or question, turned it over, looked at it from all sides, and then he came to a precise and elegant conclusion."

2. A Date With Barry

Image002

Alex McNear On Her First Date With Barack Obama:

"We sat and talked and ate and drank wine. Or at least I drank wine. I think he drank something stronger. It was one of those dark, old Italian restaurants that don’t exist in New York anymore. It was the kind of place where they leave you alone. I remember thinking how happy I felt just talking to him, that I could talk to him for hours. We walked slowly back to my apartment, on 90th, and said good-bye. After that we started spending much more time together."

3. Using Poetry To Woo Women

Image003

Obama In A Letter To McNear:

"I haven’t read 'The Waste Land' for a year, and I never did bother to check all the footnotes. But I will hazard these statements — Eliot contains the same ecstatic vision which runs from Münzer to Yeats. However, he retains a grounding in the social reality/order of his time. Facing what he perceives as a choice between ecstatic chaos and lifeless mechanistic order, he accedes to maintaining a separation of asexual purity and brutal sexual reality."

4. Bourgeois Liberalism

Image004

Obama In A Letter To McNear:

"Remember how I said there’s a certain kind of conservatism which I respect more than bourgeois liberalism — (T.S.) Eliot is of this type."

5. Staying In Shape (GTL)

Image005

Obama In A Letter To McNear:

"I run every other day at the small indoor track (at Columbia) which slants slightly upward like a plate; I stretch long and slow, twist and shake, the fatigue, the inertia finding home in different parts of the body. I check the time and growl — aargh! — and tumble onto the wheel. And bodies crowd and give off heat, some people are in front and you can hear the patter or plod of the steps behind."

6. The Brooding Outsider

Image006

Obama In a Letter To McNear:

"Caught without a class, a structure, or tradition to support me, in a sense the choice to take a different path is made for me. The only way to assuage my feelings of isolation are to absorb all the traditions (and) classes; make them mine, me theirs."

7. The Hook Up Master

Image007

Genevieve Cook, On Her First Date With Obama After Meeting At A Party:

"I’m pretty sure we had dinner maybe the Wednesday after. I think maybe he cooked me dinner. Then we went and talked in his bedroom. And then I spent the night. It all felt very inevitable."

8. Where The Magic Happens

Image008

From The Journal Of Genevieve Cook:

"I open the door, that Barack keeps closed, to his room, and enter into a warm, private space pervaded by a mixture of smells that so strongly speak of his presence, his liveliness, his habits — running sweat, Brut spray deodorant, smoking, eating raisins, sleeping, breathing."

9. The Shirtless Intellectual

Image009

From The Vanity Fair Article:

"(Cook) remembered how on Sundays Obama would lounge around, drinking coffee and solving the New York Times crossword puzzle, bare-chested, wearing a blue and white sarong."

10. Luscious Ladies

Image010

From The Journal Of Genevieve Cook:

"Today, for the first time, Barack sat on the edge of the bed — dressed — blue jeans and luscious ladies on his chest [a comfy T-shirt depicting buxom women], the end of the front section of the Sunday Times in his hand, looking out the window, and the quality of light reflected from his eyes, windows of the soul, heart, and mind, was so clear, so unmasked, his eyes narrower than he usually holds them looking out the window, usually too aware of me."

11. Sexual Warmth, Coolness

Image011

From The Journal Of Genevieve Cook:

"The sexual warmth is definitely there — but the rest of it has sharp edges and I’m finding it all unsettling and finding myself wanting to withdraw from it all. I have to admit that I am feeling anger at him for some reason, multi-stranded reasons. His warmth can be deceptive. Tho he speaks sweet words and can be open and trusting, there is also that coolness — and I begin to have an inkling of some things about him that could get to me."

12. The Woman He Loved

Image012

From "Dreams Of My Father," Obama Reflects On Genevieve Cook:

"There was a woman in New York that I loved. She was white. She had dark hair, and specks of green in her eyes. Her voice sounded like a wind chime. We saw each other for almost a year. On the weekends, mostly. Sometimes in her apartment, sometimes in mine. You know how you can fall into your own private world? Just two people, hidden and warm. Your own language. Your own customs. That’s how it was."

13. Poker Face

Image013

From The Journal Of Genevieve Cook:

"It’s not a question of my wanting to probe ancient pools of emotional trauma … but more a sense of you (Barack) biding your time and drawing others’ cards out of their hands for careful inspection — without giving too much of your own away — played with a good poker face."

"Barack — still intrigues me, but so much going on beneath the surface, out of reach. Guarded, controlled."

14. Smooth Operator

Image014

Obama's Response To Genevieve Cook When She Said "I Love You":

"Thank you."

15. The Ideal Woman

Image015

From The Journal Of Genevieve Cook:

"I can’t help thinking that what he would really want, be powerfully drawn to, was a woman, very strong, very upright, a fighter, a laugher, well-experienced—a black woman I keep seeing her as."

16. Hope And Change

Image016

From The Journal Of Genevieve Cook:

"He talked quite a lot about discontent in a quiet sort of way — balancing the tendency to be always the observer, how to effect change..."

The Royal Australian Navy’s (RAN) Collins Class submarine HMAS Farncomb has successfully sunk a target ship, the 12,106-tonne former USNS (United States Navy Ship) Kilauea in Hawaii. Farncomb, a Collins Class submarine, fired one Mark 48 Torpedo and achieved a hit just below the bridge of the ship as part of a sinking exercise, or “SINKEX,” at Exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2012. The former USNS Kilauea broke into two parts and sank about 40 minutes later.

The submarine’s Commanding Officer, Commander Glen Miles, said the firing is a significant milestone for both himself and his 60-strong crew.

“This is the result of professionalism and teamwork,” Commander Miles said. “Those of us who drive these boats know that the Collins’ weapons systems are among the most capable in the world.”

Australia is among 22 nations attending Exercise RIMPAC that includes six submarines and 40 surface ships participating in a realistic maritime warfare scenario.

Top 10 Most Dangerous Liberals

Top 10 Most Dangerous Liberals

Human Events

We have seen what rampant liberalism can do after these three-and-a-half years of misery. The left pushes an agenda that punishes success in order to spread the wealth around. It is important to know how some on the left operates:

1. President Obama

Give the former community organizer a second term in office and see the havoc that will follow. Unrestrained by political concerns, expect every possible left-wing policy to be enacted by executive order or through agency regulations. He already has taken us half-way to bureaucratic Gomorrah with his Obamacare travesty. The president has fulfilled his promise to transform America by making us more dependent on government.

2. George Soros

Most of the liberal infrastructure has been funded by financier George Soros. He has helped keep afloat such left-wing mainstays as Media Matters, Center for American Progress and Moveon.org., and donated heavily to the National Council of La Raza and Planned Parenthood. Funny how you don't hear the left complain about the political influence of deep-pocketed donors when it comes to the billionaire sugar daddy for progressives.

3. Mainstream media

Led by the New York Times and the Washington Post, the mainstream media—which forgot to vet the presidential candidacy of Barack Obama in 2008—are making sure that no stone is left unturned when it comes to Mitt Romney. From Romney's high school antics to his wife's equestrian hobby, the supposedly objective media are trying to make scandals out of triviality while shedding no lights on a failed administration.

4. Harry Reid

The Senate majority leader is dangerous because he is virtually inert. The upper chamber passes nothing of consequence while sitting on bills passed by the House. Under his leadership, the Senate has not produced a budget in years—disregarding a statutory duty. Reid's inaction fits right into Obama's strategy of attacking a "do-nothing Congress."

5. Eric Holder

Under siege in the Fast and Furious scandal, the attorney general has dropped all pretenses and is brazenly using the DoJ to pursue a political agenda. The department filed suit against Arizona's immigration law and Texas' voter ID law and Holder continually plays the race card to excuse his power grabs. As the contempt of Congress charge  plays out, expect Holder to play hardball and lash out at critics.

6. Hollywood stars

With George Clooney and Sarah Jessica Parker hosting Obama fundraisers, Hollywood is mobilizing to get Obama reelected. Michael Moore, Barbra Streisand, Alec Baldwin and others love to lecture the rest of us about global warming and the evils of Wall Street. How about boycotting a movie with a known progressive as the star?

7. Lisa Jackson

The Environmental Protection Agency, under the direction of Lisa Jackson, is moving to control aspects of daily life in ways never imagined when the agency was formed. From enacting rules to combat global warming to regulating workplace dust, the EPA is pushing an agenda that couldn't get through Congress even when Democrats controlled it.

8. Big Labor

With pro-union Hilda Solis heading the Labor Department and the National Labor Relations Board stacked in its favor, President Obama has returned the favor for the support Big Labor supplied for his election. He will need the unions even more in order to return for a second term. With the rest of his base lagging in enthusiasm, it will take the dedication of paid-union goons to get out the vote.

9. Janet Napolitano

For all the yapping from progressives about President George W. Bush's disregard for the Constitution and the evils of the PATRIOT Act, there is little being said about the vast expansion of the Department of Homeland Security under Secretary Janet Napolitano. From groping Transportation Safety Administration workers to drones monitoring America, the massive agency is increasingly eroding our freedoms while trying to protect them.

10. Nancy Pelosi

It will take years, if not decades, to undo the damage done by the spending spree during Pelosi's tenure as speaker of the House. From 2006 to 2010, the nation racked up trillions of dollars in debt, largely due to spending bills initiated by Pelosi's Democratic House majority. And without her strong-armed tactics, Obamacare never would have become law. Let us make sure in November that there is not a second act for a Speaker Pelosi.

Who the Hell Do You Think You Are? - By Mark Steyn - The Corner - National Review Online

I’ve written previously here and there (warning: includes bad language from “jokes”, and extensive excerpts from the Court’s ruling on lesbian necking) about Guy Earle, a stand-up comic convicted by the British Columbia “Human Rights” Tribunal for the hitherto unknown crime of putting down a lesbian heckler homophobically. He had no money to fly in for his trial, so they convicted him in absentia and fined him 15 grand. Half a decade after his lesbophobic putdown, his case is wending its way to the BC Supreme Court. Kevin Dale McKeown of Canada’s Numero Uno gay publication writes of the Tribunal’s original embarrassing judgment:

As Ezra Levant commented on the case, “Does Commissar Geiger-Adams, the chief kangaroo, have some special, official sense of humour? So if he laughs, it’s legal, but if he doesn’t, it’s not?”

Yes, rightwing windbag Ezra. In standing with others who value freedom of expression above all else, one finds oneself in some pretty dubious company. But that’s the whole point of freedom of expression.

Just so. If you’re only in favor of freedom of expression for people you agree with, you’re not doing it right.

Unfortunately, in a world where “group rights are ‘the key Nanny State concept’“, fewer and fewer people seem to grasp that basic point. So, up north, “edgy” “transgressive” comedians abandon Guy Earle and accept the principle that the state has a right to regulate their comedy routines. And, down south, corrupt mayors brag about using the business-licensing process to punish their enemies, and for the most part their citizens shrug.

It’s bad enough that in a supposedly free society you can’t sell a chicken sandwich to your fellow citizen without buying a bazillion permits from the state. If they can prevent you from selling a chicken sandwich because they don’t like your opinions, then what can’t they do to you? When Canada decriminalized homosexuality, Pierre Trudeau declared that the state has no place in the bedrooms of the nation. But the state has a place in the stand-up comedy routines of the nation, and the homophobic waffle fries of the nation?

Rush puts it well:

I’m reading intellectual treatises on, “Well, you know, they have the right to say these things, and the solution here is let Chick-Fil-A open a store in Chicago and let’s see if the people will visit it.” That’s not the reaction to have! The reaction to have is, “Who the hell do you think you are, Rahm Emanuel? Who the hell do you think you are? What country do you think you’re in?”

Who the hell is Tom Menino to say you can’t sell chicken in Boston unless you agree with him? Who the hell is Murray Geiger-Adams to say you can’t tell a joke in Vancouver unless he approves it? Until more citizens of free nations are willing to say to statist hacks “Who the hell do you think you are?”, liberty will continue to bleed.

British Embassy Confirms Krauthammer Right, White House Wrong: Churchill Bust Returned in 2009

by Noah Rothman | 5:32 pm, July 27th, 2012

The British Embassy has confirmed that Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer was correct when he wrote that a bust of Winston Churchill was removed from the White House when Barack Obama took office. An Obama administration spokesperson slammed Krauthammer on Friday in a fact-checking post on the White House’s blog which claimed the columnist was advancing a “ridiculous” rumor that the Obama administration had ever returned the bust. However, the British Embassy has confirmed that it did receive the original bust in 2009 and it currently resides in the U.K. Ambassador’s residence. The White House is in possession of another copy of the Churchill bust which is currently located in the White House residency.
That’s right, there are two.

RELATED: White House Bashes Krauthammer For Printing ‘Ridiculous’ Rumor That Obama Returned Bust Of Churchill

White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer attacked Krauthammer on Friday for advancing a “patently false” rumor that the White House had ever returned a bust of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. Pfeiffer produced a copy of the President and U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron observing the bust in the White House as proof. In fact, Krauthammer was factually correct.

On Friday, The British Embassy confirmed to Mediate that they did receive the bust of Churchill which was loaned to the Bush White House in 2009. The bust on display in the White House’s residency is a copy:

The bust of Sir Winston Churchill, by Sir Jacob Epstein, was lent to the George W Bush administration from the UK’s Government Art Collection, for the duration of the Presidency. When that administration came to an end so did the loan; the bust now resides in the British Ambassador’s Residence in Washington DC. The White House collection has its own Epstein bust of Churchill, which President Obama showed to Prime Minister Cameron when he visited the White House in March.

The Embassy concluded by noting that the U.K. and the U.S. share a close and special relationship and the “Churchill Bust story is a silly diversion – let’s get on and focus on seeing who wins most medals in the Olympics.”
