Obama Officials Met with Hamas, Discussed Removing it from Terror List

Posted By Daniel Greenfield On June 25, 2013

This isn’t the first time that claims like these have been made. But it shows that despite Obama Inc’s supposed public about face on Israel, the underlying priorities remain the same.

A Hamas leader claims the terrorist group has had “direct meetings” with U.S. officials close to the White House despite a longstanding American policy to have no contact with Hamas.

The claim from Hamas leader Ghazi Hamad was reported in a Palestinian news outlet. Top American representatives were in meetings Hamas had with European ambassadors and officials about two weeks ago, he said.

The officials discussed removing Hamas from the list of designated terrorist organizations, but that “these contacts have not yet reached the level of decision-makers,”

Ghazi Hamad is Hamas’s Deputy Foreign Minister which means that his claims about meetings with international officials have a certain amount of credibility.

Hamad’s presence is also significant because when Western useful idiots talk about moderate Hamas leaders, they mean Ghazi Hamad who occasionally says things that suggests the group would consider peace with Israel… things that the actual leaders of Hamas later deny. If there is anyone that Obama Inc. would try to reach out to as a Hamas “moderate”, it would be Hamad.
